Fisheries
All the waters are well stocked and will accommodate all anglers from the novice to the Specimen Carp angler.
Facilities at the fisheries include ample parking as well as toilet facilities and Gawsworth Grill Café open at weekends.
Wood Pool
Wood Pool is the main specimen lake for Carp and Catfish. It is approx. 5 acres with 25 pegs and has 1 island. This pool ranges in depth from just two foot in the shallows to just over 5 foot at its deepest. Wood Pool holds large carp up to 32 lb and catfish up to 88 lb, and also holds large Tench over 9lb as well as Barbel, Bream and Silver fish. This is the water to fish if you are looking for specimens, ideal for night fishing.
Wood Pool contains:- Common and Mirror Carp over 30lb, Ghost Carp over 20lb, Tench over 9lb Bream over 8lb, Barbel over 6lb, Chub over 6lb, Perch over 4lb as well as Silver fish.
Park Pool
Park Pool is a 2 acre pool that is situated beside Wood Pool and is classed as a runs water with a good variety of mixed fish. Park Pool is an ideal water for both the specimen hunter and the leisure angler alike. This water has Common and Mirror Carp over 25lb as well as a good number of Tench that are often caught over 6lb, Park Pool is heavily stocked with Crucian Carp, Roach, Rudd, Ide, Chubb, Perch up to 8lbs, Crucian Carp, F1 Carp, as well as some Koi Carp and Ghost Carp. Park Pool ranges in depth from under 4 foot in the shallows to six foot in the deeper parts of the water, with 2 islands and patches for lilies providing plenty of cover for the fish. A good water for novice anglers, beginners and junior anglers.
Park Pool contains:- Common and Mirror Carp over 25lb, Tench over 6lb, Bream over 5lb, Barbel over 5lb, Chub over 4lb, Perch over 3lb, Crucian Carp to 2lb. Park Pool also has lots of Skimmer Bream, Roach, Rudd, and Ide.
Coppice Pool
Coppice Pool is a 2 acre pool and is one of our deepest pools at over 8 foot deep, the water has a long central island and 20 pegs. It has been well stocked with good size specimen Carp up to 28lb, both Mirror and Common to 8lb, and Bream over 4lb as well as a lot of Silver Fish and Skimmer Bream. Good for night fishing specimen Carp.
Coppice Pool contains:- Common and Mirror Carp over 8lb, Tench over 2lb, Bream over 4lb, Barbel over 2lb, Crucian Carp to 1lb Coppice Pool also has been stocked with lots of Skimmer Bream, Roach, Rudd, and Ide
Spring Bank Pool
Spring Bank Pool is an idyllic water of almost 3 acres in size, a depth of 3 foot in the shallows and 12 foot in the deeper parts. Spring Bank Pool has 2 islands as features and a good variety of fish as it has both Mirror Carp and Commons up to 26 lb, Tench up to 10 lb as well as some good size silvers Bream, quality Roach and Rudd. As our deepest water Spring Bank is a good all year round water that will produce excellent winter sport, some very big summer bags, and a good option for night fishing.
Spring Bank Pool contains:- Common and Mirror Carp over 20lb, Tench up to 10 lb, Bream over 4lb, Barbel over 3lb, Crucian Carp to 1lb. Spring Bank Pool also has been stocked with lots of Skimmer Bream, Roach, Rudd, and Ide.
Serpentine Canal
Serpentine Canal is our own private canal which is approx. 30 foot wide and 800 foot long, suited to both match fishing and leisure angling from its 46 pegs. The canal is an average 7 foot deep and is very heavily stocked with a good range of fish - this water is not designed for the specimen hunter but the angler who wants a busy day on the bank. It has a lot of small to medium size carp up to 6lb as well as a good head of Bream, Gudgeon, Roach, Rudd, Tench and Crucians. This is an ideal pool for juniors or novice anglers. Serpentine Canal is also a match water and bookings are welcome all year round.
